There are obviously so many beautiful wedding venues for couples to choose from within  the greater Charleston, SC area, but none can be more special than your family home.  And when that family home is a sprawling horse farm with beautiful views and sentimental value, it was the perfect location for Katie and Brandon to become husband and wife.

I had visited Katie’s parents home in Aiken once before to capture Katie and Brandon’s engagement photos, but to see it truly transformed into their dream wedding venue was so special. Upon arriving at the property I wasn’t greeted by Katie and Brandon and their closest family and friends as the photographer, but rather like a friend myself, and that kicked off the gorgeous June day in the best way.

After seeing each other for a first look, Katie and Brandon made sure to find a way to involve one of their most special family members into their day—their adorable dog Wally. He ran to both of them with delight and we made sure to capture photos of their family of three.

Katie and Brandon’s love for all things Disney was a special and personal touch they incorporated into their day.  Naming the tables after their favorite Disney films and having a Disney cake topper were just some of the small details that added something special to the STUNNINGLY designed tent and reception space where their guests danced the night away.

Katie and Brandon, I can honestly say you two are some of the kindest,  most warm hearted people I have met during my time as a wedding photographer. And as stunningly gorgeous as the physical parts of your wedding day way, even more beautiful is how much the two of you not only care for each other, but every single person around you.  I am so thrilled that in this crazy world the two of you found  each other and are in the process of building a beautiful life together as Mr. and Mrs. Lortz!
