AMALIE AND JUSTIN | A FALL DUKE FARMS ENGAGEMENT

2018-11-18_0001.jpg

When I say that it was a cold and windy fall New Jersey day when I met up with Amalie and Justin for their engagement session, I mean it! The two were troopers from the very beginning, and you would never be able to tell in their photos. Our timing worked out perfectly as I was traveling to New Jersey for my sister’s bridal shower and Amalie and Justin were driving in from the Philadelphia are to visit her parents the same weekend. While we didn’t have much of a choice weather wise, whenever I think of this session I will think of poor Amalie bundled up in a long down coat and taking it off whenever I got them into place. And y’all she did it with the most enthusiasm I have ever seen.

I met up with Amalie and Justin at Duke Farm Estates in Hillsborough, New Jersey, and let’s just say the gorgeous fall foliage was making my heart happy. It really is one of the things I miss the most while living in Charleston. We walked around the property and the two told me of how they met and got engaged, and we chatted about their wedding, which I’ll travel up to Pennsylvania for next September. Amalie and Justin had me laughing and smiling the whole time. These two are just the kind of people who were made for each other. I could tell because whenever I would go to get them in a pose after a while they were just getting themselves into one. Talk about making my job easy!

Sometimes when I leave engagement sessions I get said that it will be such a long wait until I am able to see the couple again. But in this case, I’ll be seeing Amalie and Justin a whole lot sooner than their nuptials next year. That’s because Amalie is actually going to be a bridesmaid in her best friend Jordan’s wedding down in my stopping grounds of Charleston next May. Two #kdyebrides in one place means I must capture in on camera. And of course you know I will!

Amalie and Justin, thank you so much for braving the wind and 40 degree weather with me. You made it look easy as heck, and you did it all with a smile on your faces. I can’t wait to see the two of you say I do next year. Until then, enjoy these photos!
