Social media is such a funny thing in the way that it can let you keep up with old friends that you have seen in what feels like a lifetime. Jean is one of those people for me. Many years ago we cheered together on our high school cheerleading squad. I was a freshman while Jean was a junior and I remember thinking she was one of the most gorgeous people I had ever seen in person. Fast forward to this past Sunday and that fact hadn’t changed. What had was the she was now married to her high school sweetheart, Jared (who I also knew from our BRHS days), and they have three equally gorgeous kids, Harrison, Elle, and Henry.
Jean contacted me a few months ago to let me know her family of five, plus Jared’s parents, brother, sister, and their respective families would be taking a summer vacation to Hilton Head Island. Knowing I had recently moved to Charleston, she wanted to know if I’d be willing to travel to do a family photo session at the beach. I jumped at the chance knowing it would be fun to catch up after so many years, and I’m so glad I did.
Most of our time was spent focused on Jean’s party of five (Bailey Salinger anyone?), but their extended family did join us at the end for a big group shot, which you can also see below. Her kids are just beyond adorable and sweet. Harrison kept challenging me to a race on the beach, and let’s just say Elle ended up soaked and barefoot like any good beach girl. I’m so thankful this job of mine let’s me keep up with people I may not have otherwise for sessions exactly like this one with the Brechmans! Thank you for having me in Hilton Head, and enjoy the rest of your vacation, Jean and company!
