When a couple comes to you and says they’d like to take some of their engagement photos in a local bar because “let’s be honest, our relationship revolves around food and drinks,” you know they’re your people. Eva and Blair are my people.

We met at Bar Félix in downtown Charleston and pretty much had the entire place to ourselves. Pair that with huge windows letting in a ton of natural light, a gorgeous bride-to-be, and a handsome man ready to look lovingly at her, and well, you’ve got yourself a happy photographer. But more than just the setting, the best part about this session was seeing Eva and Blair together. The love they have for each other is so incredibly evident that it seriously made my job a piece of cake that evening.

We strolled around downtown chatting and talking about how the two met, how they got engaged, who Blair can do really great impressions of, you know all the usual things.  We found all the great spots downtown including the wisteria that was in bloom, and not a single instagram influencer was already there taking pictures. A true Charleston miracle. In all seriousness though, it could not have been a more perfect engagement session in my eyes.

Eva and Blair, I’m so happy all the turn of events when looking for a wedding photographer lead you to me because it’s absurd the amount of excitement I have for your big day at the Gibbes Museum of Art next year. I already know it’s going to be a day to remember, and I’m beyond honored to be the one who will be behind the camera capturing it all for you.
