A FAMILY OF FOUR | BECKHAM’S NEWBORN PHOTOS

In the weeks leading up to Beckham’s birth, I was nervous about a whole lot of things. How would I handle taking care of two kids at home? How would Hudson react to his little brother? Would I ever sleep again? But most of all I was nervous about how I could possibly love another little boy as much as I love Hudson. Everyone with more than one child told me not to worry about it, that the love would just come naturally, but I still couldn’t help but let the feeling linger. But the second they put Beckham in my arms at the hospital I started crying from being overwhelmed at how much I already loved him. It was like a part of my heart I didn’t know existed had opened up and he immediately took over that space. And just like that at least one of those nerves faded away.

A few days after we took him home Clair of Clair Shorter Photography came to our house to capture a lifestyle newborn session of Beckham and our new family of four. Y’all, I have to brag on Clair for a second. She’s obviously extremely talented at what she does, but more than that she is just one of the warmest people you will ever meet. She instantly makes you feel comfortable around her and you forget the camera is even there. I CANNOT recommend her enough for newborn photos! And coming from someone who has tried to take them and has since “retired” from newborn photography, I can tell you it is NOT easy, so having someone as great as Clair is a MUST!

I made sure my parents would be around to entertain Hudson when he wasn’t needed, but the thing I will always remember is how he kept trying to sneak back in the room to steal little kisses with Beckham. He truly fell instantly in love with our little guy just as fast as Tyler and I did, and for that I will be forever grateful.

Now that a few months has passed with our newest addition at home, I can say that life with just one was a breeze compared to two, but Beckham has made it easy on us. He’s been a champion sleeper and eater from the start, and  is so chill he just might trick me into thinking I can handle a third… just not for a while!! Beckham Murphy Dye, you are so loved and we can’t imagine our lives without you in it!!
