Why Client Experience Should be the Heart of Your Business

Why Client Experience Should be the Heart of Your Business

Why Client Experience Should be the Heart of Your Business

I know I talk a lot about client experience but it’s because I truly believe it matters. I’ve built my business by forming long lasting relationships with my Ryde or Dye clients because I make their client experience the heart of my business. Today, I wanted to share WHY I believe so strongly that client experience can make or break your business as a photographer especially.

Pretty pictures aren’t enough.

It’s no secret, there’s photographers everywhere. And I do believe that’s a good thing! But, because of that, simply taking pretty pictures of your clients isn’t going to be enough. Instead, you need to think about how you’re making your clients FEEL. If you and the photographer next door can do the same thing, what really sets you apart? Your client experience is what makes you and your business unique.

People remember how you make them feel.

There’s nothing wrong with simply doing your job and delivering gorgeous photos.  But it’s important to remember that over time, people will only remember how you made them feel. If you made them feel awkward and nervous during their shoot, they’re not going to recommend you or book you again. But, if you made their experience exciting and comfortable, they’re going to rave about you for years to come. They’ll remember that you made them feel confident and sure of themselves. Even as a photographer, I’ve had this happen! We booked a photographer who was amazing at taking photos but made us feel awkward. And you know what? I never did anything with those photos. Because I didn’t feel good about them or the experience.

Your experience isn’t just about your session.

We’re going to dive into this more next week, but remember your experience isn’t just about taking photos. Your experience is about how you prepare your clients, speak to them, and work with them during the session. If you’re disorganized, barely remembering to send documents, or uncomfortable during the session, that will make a huge difference in your clients’ experience with you. Remember, taking care of people should always be your priority. That’s what matters most!

Client experience is an important part of your business, and I truly believe it can make or break you. Take the time to figure out how you can best serve for and care for your clients and it will help you in the long run. Want to learn more about creating a unique and powerful client experience? This gorgeous Wild Dunes Resort wedding in  Charleston, SC for Megan and Ian truly was one of the most spectacular days, but the end result was completely different than what these two first had in mind for their wedding. When I met with Megan and Ian for a glass of wine over two years ago […]

Kelly and Steven are part of the 2021 #rideodyecouple family that waited longer than most to finally make it to their Charleston wedding. Having to postpone their wedding date not once, but twice due to CoVid wasn’t an easy decision, but it made their day at Cannon Green even sweeter when it finally arrived. When I walked into Kelly’s getting ready Airbnb, […]

As a Charleston wedding photographer,  I have to admit that I see a lot of really beautiful big gatherings, but lately there’s been a very special place in my heart for intimate elopements and gatherings.  And that’s exactly what Hannah and Matthew’s day was. A small gathering of just their nearest and dearest on the […]
