Scott used to drive me high school every morning. I was lucky enough to live two houses down from my cousins, but I was even luckier that he shared the same love for *NSYNC back in the day that I did. Because that meanthe played the “No Strings Attached” album on our ten minute drive to school every day. My Justin loving (always have, always will) self is very much appreciative. Now years later Scott told me he did that just because he knew I loved them. A few years after that he married Caitlin and their first dance was to, “This I Promise You,” by the one and only Justin & Crew. So you tell me who really loved them 😉
So being that Scott is one of my oldest friends and Caitlin has fit seamlessly into the family, we were all so excited to get the text last Christmas Eve that they were expecting a baby. I say we because it was really my whole family – my mom, my dad, my aunt, my brother, my sister-in-law, my husband, my son, and my sister – because the gang was all there. I immediately started saying, “I knew it!” because I had had my suspicions at my brother’s wedding a few months before when Caitlin was earlier to bed than usual. Lucky for our family, I was right!
Caitlin and I had been planning family pictures since before Scott Jr. was born, but the timing was just never right. Being that I live in Virginia now I wasn’t able to be in New Jersey for true newborn photos back in May, we then planned to take them at a family wedding this summer in D.C. Well the weather that weekend ended up being well over 100 degrees and we decided against it. And I’m so glad we did because Duke Farms in Hillsborough, New Jersey ended up being the PERFECT place to snap some photos of this family of three. The autumn leaves had already changed creating gorgeous backdrops. I had never been to this hidden gem even though it was only 20 minutes from where I grew up, but now that I know about it, I will 100% be back.
Welcome to the family, Scott Jr., and one day when you’re a little older I will introduce you to the best boyband the early 2000s had to offer. That is, if your dad doesn’t first.
