“I didn’t want to allow myself to get too excited,” is something Nicole said to me during her wedding day. And it was totally understandable why. Nicole had spent months planning her wedding day to Travis at the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina to take place in April, only to be put on hold by Covid a few weeks before it was supposed to happen. Like so many other couples putting this important life event on hold, the not knowing had to have been the worst part.
But looking around Nicole and Travis’s wedding day that took place this last weekend in August, I would say it would have been more than ok for Nicole to finally feel excited. Because it was absolutely stunning in every possible way, led by the bride herself. I mean it when I say she was just a vision.
Tucked away at the end of Mount Pleasant right before crossing the bridge into Charleston, the Charleston Harbor Resort feels like a little Caribbean Hideaway, although it’s right here in the Lowcountry. Nicole had told me she really wanted to gather her entire wedding party on a small beach overlooking the water at the resort. Set under string lights with Palmetto trees abound, it made for the most fun, tropical feeling setting ever. And from what I overheard from them that day, I’m pretty sure the night prior the wedding party thought it was the most fun too. 😉
Nicole and Travis, thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be a part of the beginning of your lives together. You welcomed me in as a friend. Your friends did the same. And I left your wedding night with the biggest smile on my face that continued on to the entire weekend following. I wish you nothing but the best as you continue to grow in your marriage together. And always remember, you have a friend right down the road here in Charleston.
Thank you to the team who made the magic happen:
