800 million: The number of instagram users in the world. 3200: The number of miles between Maine and California. 365: The number of days between a first date and a proposal. And yet of all the numbers that make up a love story, there’s really only one that matters. The two people who fall head over heels for each other.
Elysia was a writer living in Maine. Andy was a writer living in California. And as fate would have it they managed to pop up on the other’s instagram feeds. After messaging each other back and forth and bonding over their shared passion for writing, both decided it was time to meet in person. Elysia had since moved to Charleston, South Carolina, so Andy hopped on a plane and met her in the Lowcountry. The rest is history.
Elysia and Andy’s families were now the ones to hop on a plane, landing in Charleston to celebrate their marriage at the Isle of Palms Exchange Club on a gorgeous fall day. Punctuated by vibrant jewel toned dressed and florals, a sampling of decadent Lowcountry cuisine, and lawn games such as corn hole to entertain, the day could not have been more beautiful. With views of the beautiful Hamlin Creek behind where Andy and Elysia said, “I do,” it was clear to me and everyone else present that some love stories are just meant to be.
Elysia and Andy, this is just the first chapter in your lives together as husband and wife, and I am thankful to be the one having provided the images that will become your family heirlooms. When you look at these, I hope you see the way Andy’s entire face lights up with his broad smile whenever you are around Elysia, and the way Elysia fits just right in your arms Andy. Now go out and write the rest of your story together. Make it countless chapters filled with adventures. Make it have plot twists that lead you new places, but always bring you back together. Make it whatever sets your hearts on fire. But most of all, make it epic.
