MR. AND MRS. MARTINEZ | A CANNON GREEN WEDDING

If there is one person who can affect the vibe and feeling of a wedding day more than anyone else, it is 100% the bride. And walking in Rachel’s getting ready room on the morning of her wedding, I knew it was going to be one of the most relaxed and joyful weddings. How? Because that’s exactly how Rachel herself was. She was so entirely cool, calm, and collected, that I knew the rest of the day was going to be exactly like her. Maybe it’s because she had her favorite (and mine too!) yoga teacher (shoutout to Kate Moon from Hylo) teach a class for her and her friends that morning that had her feeling this way. Or maybe it was the fact that she was marrying someone who is absolutely perfect for her in Michael. Or maybe it was a combination of both!!

Rachel and Michael shared their first look in downtown Charleston, and we were lucky enough to spend a lot of time taking gorgeous photos of both the two of them and their maid of honor and best man before making our way over to Cannon Green. And you guys!!!! When I tell you that our jaws collectively hit the floor upon walking into the venue and seeing how GORGEOUS the staircase looked with the greenery and florals I mean it. We decided right then and there we had to take both their family photos and photos of Rachel and Michael there as well.
One of the most touching parts of the entire day came during the reception when it was time for everyone to get on the dance floor. Rachel’s father (who had hands down the CUTEST reaction during the father/daughter first look earlier in the day) was surrounded by Rachel, her sister Mary, and her brother Joe, singing “I Would Walk 500 Miles.” The absolute joy coming from their laughter and smiles as the danced and sang and hugged was contagious. It’s one of those moments that I won’t forget anytime soon.

Rachel and Michael, I hope you’re reading this with a cocktail in hand on the beaches of Costa Rica and it’s helping you relive your day from beginning to end. I am so incredibly honored to have been a part of it. I can’t imagine having kicked off my 2020 wedding season with a nicer couple, and know that you two are going to have so many years of happiness together. I can’t wait to watch them unfold!! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Martinez!

This gorgeous Wild Dunes Resort wedding in  Charleston, SC for Megan and Ian truly was one of the most spectacular days, but the end result was completely different than what these two first had in mind for their wedding. When I met with Megan and Ian for a glass of wine over two years ago […]

Kelly and Steven are part of the 2021 #rideodyecouple family that waited longer than most to finally make it to their Charleston wedding. Having to postpone their wedding date not once, but twice due to CoVid wasn’t an easy decision, but it made their day at Cannon Green even sweeter when it finally arrived. When I walked into Kelly’s getting ready Airbnb, […]

As a Charleston wedding photographer,  I have to admit that I see a lot of really beautiful big gatherings, but lately there’s been a very special place in my heart for intimate elopements and gatherings.  And that’s exactly what Hannah and Matthew’s day was. A small gathering of just their nearest and dearest on the […]
