There are some days that you just look around and think to yourself, “Wow, that was perfect.” And I can confidently say that Catherine and Taylor’s wedding was one of those days. The two tied the knot at Lowndes Grove on the most perfect Charleston fall day. Without a cloud in the sky and the temperatures below 75 for the first time in a long time, the physical surroundings were impeccable, but even more so were the details Catherine had so lovingly picked out. Seriously – wait until you see this color scheme and flowers.
But beyond that, Catherine and Taylor’s day was perfect because of the two of them. These two just light up around each other in a way that you know there’s something so special about what they share. And being a big music person, hearing the way they personalized their ceremony with “Seasons of Love” and “Viva la Vida,” was the icing on the cake for me. Basically if I were ever renewing my vows to Tyler, I’m getting Catherine to help me plan it.
The first dances took place underneath the tent right after the sun had peaked underneath the horizon line of the Ashley River leaving a beautiful orange glow providing mood lighting as Catherine and Taylor danced to “My Best Friend,” by Tim McGraw. Afterwards, her Father, and the two best men gave heartfelt speeches that had everyone laughing AND tearing up. Everyone then danced the night away before we snuck away for a quiet moment with just the newlyweds and a few sparklers.
Catherine and Taylor, I will never forget standing outside of the front of Lowndes Grove at the end of the night and having the two of you profusely thanking me. But here’s the thing. I should have been the one thanking you. Because being invited into this day with you was something that means so much to me. So please allow me to say it now. THANK YOU! Thank you for trusting me with this day and thank you for being amazing. I cannot wait to see all that life has to bring the two of you!
