There are certain couples you just know from the second you talk to them that you want to photograph their wedding. And for me, Katie and David were one of those couples. From the second we walked into Starbucks to meet, I felt like they were old friends. The two were in town visiting from Boston and touring venues, so it was a great time to meet and chat with them. We sat and talked for a while and the conversation just flowed so naturally that I knew I wanted them to be a #kdyecouple. So when they emailed a few days later to make it official, I definitely was doing my happy dance.
If Katie and David were nervous the day of their engagement shoot, it sure didn’t show. From the very beginning of their time with me, both of them were just so natural, so playful, and so freaking adorable in front of the camera. The photos of David spinning Katie in for a twirl on the steps of Hibernian hall will always be some of my favorites. And Katie’s skirt… swoon!!! Almost as beautiful as her. Pair that with the glow Charleston was showing off with that day and the way David smiles at Katie, and you’ve got some magic happening.
Katie and David, I can’t wait to do this all over again at Magnolia Plantation later this spring. If these are the engagement photos I honestly can’t even imagine how amazing you’re going to be all dressed up! But more importantly, you’ll be Mr. and Mrs.! Less than a 100 days to go and you know I am counting down!
