KAITLYN AND TYLER | AN DREAMY OUTDOOR LEGARE WARING HOUSE WEDDING

The very first time I ever talked to Kaitlyn about her and Tyler’s Legare House wedding she told me that she wasn’t into photos very much because she said she felt awkward in front of a camera. To which I say… GIRL. Have you seen yourself in these photos?! Because you are STUNNING. So let this be reassurance to anyone out there who thinks the same thing as Kaitlyn. Because I’VE GOT YOU. Besides the fact that Kaitlyn and Tyler ended up looking insanely good in their photos, but these two could just not have been kinder and ready to have more fun. And that carried over into their whole day. Charleston got lucky that these two California natives chose our beloved city for a little southern charm.

One of the biggest pieces of advice I can give to bride and grooms is to make your day your very own. And that’s exactly what Kaitlyn and Tyler did with their ceremony. Both their readings were unbelievable, but for two very different reasons. The first was an excerpt of “The Places You’ll Go,” by Dr. Suess, read by their friend who was hilarious to say the least. He had the entire place cracking up, including Kaitlyn (as seen in these pics), and it really just added some lightness to their ceremony. So while one second we were all dying laughing, in the next, there were quite a few tissues being brought out, as their second reading was an excerpt from a letter written by Johnny Cash to his wife June Carter. It was the PERFECT combination of emotions. Add to all of this that at one point they were referenced as “Kate and Tyler,” and y’all know I was loving (and crying through) every second of it.

And when it came time for dinner, Kaitlyn and Tyler’s al fresco meal, at which every guest sat at one long (styled to PERFECTION) farm table underneath twinkling bulb lights, the scene seriously looked like it was straight out of the Braverman’s backyard in “Parenthood.” And if you have never seen that show, what are you doing with your life? Go watch it now. If I could go back and redo my entire wedding I am going for Kaitlyn vibes friends. Because her laid back California style was the perfect mix for the unusually cool evening we were getting in South Carolina that night.

Kaitlyn and Tyler, I will always cherish being a part of this day with you. When I say I wish I could have been a guest at this wedding, I mean it. I have never kept so many dancing photos from a reception before. You all LIT UP the dance floor!! And if the sushi dates and adventures you’ll take together that you spoke of in your vows are any indication, the two of you aren’t planning on letting life pass you by at all. And that is what it’s all about. Congratulations you two, and thanks for being such an amazing addition to the Kate Dye Couple family!

This gorgeous Wild Dunes Resort wedding in  Charleston, SC for Megan and Ian truly was one of the most spectacular days, but the end result was completely different than what these two first had in mind for their wedding. When I met with Megan and Ian for a glass of wine over two years ago […]

Kelly and Steven are part of the 2021 #rideodyecouple family that waited longer than most to finally make it to their Charleston wedding. Having to postpone their wedding date not once, but twice due to CoVid wasn’t an easy decision, but it made their day at Cannon Green even sweeter when it finally arrived. When I walked into Kelly’s getting ready Airbnb, […]

As a Charleston wedding photographer,  I have to admit that I see a lot of really beautiful big gatherings, but lately there’s been a very special place in my heart for intimate elopements and gatherings.  And that’s exactly what Hannah and Matthew’s day was. A small gathering of just their nearest and dearest on the […]
