A few months ago I met Jillie and Ryan in downtown Charleston for a cup of coffee to discuss plans for their October setting, which is set to take place a private Residence in just a few weeks. I left that meeting giddy for a few different reasons. Number one was because sitting and chatting with them felt like sitting and chatting with old friends. They were kind, easy going, funny, and just so easy to talk to. Number two was because the pictures of the home they are getting married at are TO DIE FOR. Y’all I cannot wait. And number three was because they mentioned possibly bringing their dog, Oakly to their engagement session. And I know that anytime people bring their dogs, their true personalities are 100% going to come through in their photos.
Jillie and Ryan were the absolute best sports when it came to scheduling their engagement session, and agreed to getting up before the sun rose to meet me at the Pitt Street Bridge in Mount Pleasant when a few other dates didn’t work out because of weather and the crazy storms we were having here in Charleston this summer. If you’ve ever been to Pitt Street Bridge, you’ll know how crowded it can get in the evenings. People bring hammocks, golf carts and picnics, while others hang out to fish and walk their dogs. While there were a handful of people there at sunrise, it was a whole lot quieter than usual, which made it easy to walk around with Jillie, Ryan and of course Oakley. And let me tell you, Oakley was so darn good and even “smiled” for my camera a few times.
When we were all wrapped up Jillie handed me a bottle of champagne, as it just so happened to be my six year anniversary with my husband Tyler. Y’all. So sweet!!!! Jillie and Ryan, I absolutely CANNOT wait for you to walk down the aisle in just a few short weeks. In fact, I’ve been looking forward to it for months yet. I know your day is going to be just beautiful and as perfect as the two of you are together!!
