Overlooking the balcony to the beautiful low country marshes below and a light October breeze blowing, Jillie and Ryan said their I Dos with only a handful of family members present. The intimacy of this sacred event, which took place at the couple’s wedding planner’s private Charleston estate, was so beautiful as their parents, grandmothers, brothers and sisters, and nieces and nephews watched on. Ryan cried as Jillie was escorted by her father down the balcony towards him, and his brother officiated their vows, making it a true family affair, and one I can say I was truly honored to be a part of.
But the day didn’t end after the ceremony, as we made our way over to the Creek Club at I’on, a stunning property in itself overlooking the water with wrap around porches just as vast as the one Jillie and Ryan were married on. There, the couples friends joined in the celebration for a reception that included decadent southern cooking, a dessert table to die for, and just about the cutest nieces around making sure the dance floor never got lonely, and that they stole the show during the speeches.
And I have to say, the dance floor at this wedding was packed all night long!! I had a great time watching everyone get up and celebrate the new Mr. and Mrs. When you see the grandmothers out on the dance floor busting out their best moves, you know it’s a fun party. And Jillie and Ryan, I definitely saw yours out there! Mission complete.
Jillie and Ryan, I want to thank you for allowing me to be a part of such an intimate day. Knowing that I was among just the most important people in the world to you to witness your nuptials isn’t something I take lightly, and I will never forget it.
