JENNIFER + BRAD | ENGAGED

2017-03-21_0004.jpg

Duran Duran would walk 5,000 miles and Brad would fly 730 more. 730 miles being the approximate distance between Maryland and St. Louis. And that’s exactly what he did when he wanted to propose to Jennifer. Brad flew to St. Louis where Jennifer was visiting a friend and surprised her in the botanical gardens with a gorgeous ring in hand. You have to love a man – bad joke alert – that will literally go the distance.

For a winter that has been unusually warm this season it could not have been colder the morning of Jennifer and Brad’s engagement session. It wasn’t just cold, it was bitter outside, but you really won’t be able to tell by these pictures. That’s because every time I was ready to snap a photo Jennifer and Brad would whip off their coats, put on a smile and generally just made my job easy. Not once did they complain, and they made our time walking around Frederick, Maryland a lot of fun.

I had previously been to Frederick for a wedding, but didn’t have much time to explore the downtown area. Jennifer and Brad live just a quick ten minute drive from there, so it was the perfect backdrop for their engagement photos. There are so many picturesque backdrops including colored buildings and intricate bridges, but the coolest place we went that morning was a scenic overlook where the mountains made us *almost* forget about the cold.

Jennifer and Brad, I can’t wait to be back in Frederick for your May nuptials. I’m sure the day will be quite a bit warmer than this day, but if it’s not there’s no doubt in my mind you’ll once again have laid back attitudes, smiles on your faces and once again will make my job extremely easy!

This gorgeous Wild Dunes Resort wedding in  Charleston, SC for Megan and Ian truly was one of the most spectacular days, but the end result was completely different than what these two first had in mind for their wedding. When I met with Megan and Ian for a glass of wine over two years ago […]

Kelly and Steven are part of the 2021 #rideodyecouple family that waited longer than most to finally make it to their Charleston wedding. Having to postpone their wedding date not once, but twice due to CoVid wasn’t an easy decision, but it made their day at Cannon Green even sweeter when it finally arrived. When I walked into Kelly’s getting ready Airbnb, […]

As a Charleston wedding photographer,  I have to admit that I see a lot of really beautiful big gatherings, but lately there’s been a very special place in my heart for intimate elopements and gatherings.  And that’s exactly what Hannah and Matthew’s day was. A small gathering of just their nearest and dearest on the […]
