CHARLESTON WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | WILD DUNES RESORT WEDDING | MEGAN AND IAN

This gorgeous Wild Dunes Resort wedding in  Charleston, SC for Megan and Ian truly was one of the most spectacular days, but the end result was completely different than what these two first had in mind for their wedding. When I met with Megan and Ian for a glass of wine over two years ago they told me all about their plans for a ceremony in Hampton Park with a small restaurant  reception after.  But when CoVid hit and postponed their wedding for an entire calendar year, their plans began to shift.Instead, Megan and Ian pivoted to a beach wedding overlooking the ocean followed by a brunch reception at the beautiful Wild Dunes Resort, and the results were nothing short of spectacular.

Entering Megan’s getting ready room in the morning, old school pop music from the early 2000s including Britney throw backs were playing. Megan and her family were laughing, dancing, and laughing some more, really setting the stage for a day that would in a word be this: FUN!  I don’t know if I’ve ever laughed so much during glam time.

That fun spirit carried over to their entire day, and once these two saw each other on the boardwalk for their first look, I don’t  think the smiles stopped for Megan and Ian, or anyone around them for that matter. Megan and Ian are so clearly meant to be together, and their energy surrounding them tells you that.  My favorite part of their day? It has to be their salsa inspired first dance to Childish Gambino. It was unexpected, exciting, and fun loving with a side of pure romance.  Much like their relationship. We once joked at their engagement session that they could go on Dancing With the Stars, and I stand by that!

Megan and Ian, even if this day turned out to be different than you first imagined, there’s no doubt in my mind that it actually turned out better than you could have dreamed. Because watching you two light up around each other and exchange vows with the ocean behind you is a day I won’t forget, and one I know you won’t either. Thank you for allowing me to be a  part of a day that was so much fun, but also meant so much to everyone involved. You two are gems of humans, and I am lucky to know you!

Kelly and Steven are part of the 2021 #rideodyecouple family that waited longer than most to finally make it to their Charleston wedding. Having to postpone their wedding date not once, but twice due to CoVid wasn’t an easy decision, but it made their day at Cannon Green even sweeter when it finally arrived. When I walked into Kelly’s getting ready Airbnb, […]

As a Charleston wedding photographer,  I have to admit that I see a lot of really beautiful big gatherings, but lately there’s been a very special place in my heart for intimate elopements and gatherings.  And that’s exactly what Hannah and Matthew’s day was. A small gathering of just their nearest and dearest on the […]
