GIBBES MUSEUM CHARLESTON WEDDING | EVA & BLAIR

bride and groom hug on cobblestone road in Charleston

bride and groom hug on cobblestone road in CharlestonWhen I say that Eva and Blair have been waiting for their wedding day for quite some time, that is NOT an understatement. These two reached out about me photographing their wedding all the way back at the beginning of 2019. We did their engagement photos that spring when the Wisteria was in bloom here in Charleston, and we were all under the impression that around the same time the following year they’d be tying the knot.

Well, these two did end up tying the knot in March 2020, but just not the way anyone expected at the time. When the world shut down just a week before their scheduled soiree, Eva and Blair were understandably were devastated. However they didn’t stay that way for long, as they decided that while CoVid may have stopped them from the big party, it wasn’t going to stop them from being married. And so Eva and Blair gathered with just a few immediate family members and were married on their original spring 2020 March date, which I was lucky enough to be a part of to.

And although their big ceremony and reception at the Gibbes Museum would be postponed once again, all the way until May 2021, these two knew the important thing was that they were together. And when the day FINALLY arrived, I just can’t tell you how unbelievably beautiful it was. These two had clearly put so much thought into their day and with such a long wait, they were blessed by Mother nature with a GORGEOUS Charleston spring day.

From the second I joined Eva and her bridal party at the Belmond Charleston Place hotel to the get ready, the mood in the air was just celebratory. We laughed and listened to music and reminisced about the journey these two went on to get here. We then made our way down to Longitude Lane, a hidden alley right off of Rainbow Row to do Eva and Blair’s first look. I couldn’t help but tear up knowing that the dress Blair was about to see had been hanging in Eva’s closet for quite some time! And when we arrived at the Gibbes museum, these two had thought of everything. From the live painter, to the gelato cart, it was just the best!

Eva and Blair, I am so so thankful that after such a long wait, you two finally got the celebration you deserved. As a photographer, seeing your gallery wall waiting for your pictures made me so excited to finally get you here, but as your friend, I was even more so! Thank YOU for allowing me to stick with you throughout this crazy year. You two are just the best, and I am thankful for your day, but even more so for your friendship!

THANK YOU TO THE CREATIVE TEAM!

This gorgeous Wild Dunes Resort wedding in  Charleston, SC for Megan and Ian truly was one of the most spectacular days, but the end result was completely different than what these two first had in mind for their wedding. When I met with Megan and Ian for a glass of wine over two years ago […]

Kelly and Steven are part of the 2021 #rideodyecouple family that waited longer than most to finally make it to their Charleston wedding. Having to postpone their wedding date not once, but twice due to CoVid wasn’t an easy decision, but it made their day at Cannon Green even sweeter when it finally arrived. When I walked into Kelly’s getting ready Airbnb, […]

As a Charleston wedding photographer,  I have to admit that I see a lot of really beautiful big gatherings, but lately there’s been a very special place in my heart for intimate elopements and gatherings.  And that’s exactly what Hannah and Matthew’s day was. A small gathering of just their nearest and dearest on the […]
