DEVON AND NICK | A WILD DUNES RESORT ON ISLE OF PALMS WEDDING

“I want my dress to look like it has maximum sparkle.” When a bride says those words to you shortly after you arrive to photograph their wedding, you know that it’s going to be a good day. Because who doesn’t love a little sparkle? And that’s what both Devon’s dress and Devon herself did all day long. Despite a pretty chilly and windy day on Isle of Palms at Wild Dune Resort, Devon never let a thing bother her. And if it did, you wouldn’t have been able to tell. Even when she and Nick had to make the tough decision of whether or not to continue to hold their reception outside under twinkly lights on the croquet lawn at Wild Dunes as planned, or move the reception inside to a ballroom to keep their guests warmer, both the bride and groom remained their laid back selves.
After Devon and Nick first saw each other during their cute First Look, we headed out to the beach to take the full bridal party photos. And I have to say, it was hands down my favorite combination of bridesmaids dresses I have ever shot. I always love when bridesmaids don’t perfectly match, but the way Devon decided to mix in a floral print to the mix made it just so beautiful. And Nick’s buddies couldn’t have been more fun. As a few of them, including Nick, in the group are cops, they were itching to do some finger gun photos, and we were more than happy to oblige them.
And when it came time for that reception? Man on man, did I know we were in for a good time. Because from the second the newlyweds entered the ballroom their friends were chanting, clapping, and just generally having the time of their lives. It was honestly a sight to see, and I was there for it! The speeches were just an extension of that, as their family and friends had everyone cracking up. All I can say about that is, “Welcome to Ireland, Bitches.” 😉
Devon and Nick, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of such an important day in your life. I honestly want to be a part of you friend group and attend a wedding with you all so I can rock a wig and hang out with all of you. Because you are just SO DANG FUN! Your day was one I will never forget and I hope that these pictures mean the same for you!

This gorgeous Wild Dunes Resort wedding in  Charleston, SC for Megan and Ian truly was one of the most spectacular days, but the end result was completely different than what these two first had in mind for their wedding. When I met with Megan and Ian for a glass of wine over two years ago […]

Kelly and Steven are part of the 2021 #rideodyecouple family that waited longer than most to finally make it to their Charleston wedding. Having to postpone their wedding date not once, but twice due to CoVid wasn’t an easy decision, but it made their day at Cannon Green even sweeter when it finally arrived. When I walked into Kelly’s getting ready Airbnb, […]

As a Charleston wedding photographer,  I have to admit that I see a lot of really beautiful big gatherings, but lately there’s been a very special place in my heart for intimate elopements and gatherings.  And that’s exactly what Hannah and Matthew’s day was. A small gathering of just their nearest and dearest on the […]
