As a Charleston wedding photographer, I have to admit that I see a lot of really beautiful big gatherings, but lately there’s been a very special place in my heart for intimate elopements and gatherings. And that’s exactly what Hannah and Matthew’s day was. A small gathering of just their nearest and dearest on the beautiful beaches of Isle of Palms, and it was just perfection!
Hannah and Matthew gathered just their immediate family to join us down in Charleston and we spent the morning making sure Hannah got all the pampering she deserved. One of the coolest things I have ever seen is that Hannah actually had her mom’s old wedding dress made into a robe that she got ready in that morning. The exact lace and beading her mom wore so many years ago now looked beautiful on Hannah as she prepped to become a bride herself. SO special!
The stretch of beach we gathered on to get Hannah and Matthew married on couldn’t have been more beautiful, but the highlight most definitely was listening to these two say their vows to each other. I seriously can’t help but tear up during ceremonies, and Hannah and Matthew’s was no exception. We then made our way to downtown Charleston to take some more photos of the newlyweds and even though we were fighting impending rain the entire time, it didn’t seem to bother the these two one bit.
Hannah and Matthew, thank you so much for allowing me to be a small part of your day. The intimacy of having just your nearest and dearest was so incredibly special, and I still pinch myself that hanging out with the most fantastic people such as yourselves is my job. You two are meant to be together, which is so evident to anyone in your presence. I wish you nothing but sunny beach days for years to come!
