CEDAR ROOM CHARLESTON WEDDING | KAREN AND ADAM

Karen and Adam’s Cedar Room wedding wasn’t just a few hour affair, but instead was an entire weekend filled with festivities for their nearest and dearest. It included a weekend stay at a beach house on Folly Beach where they played beach games and were only steps away from the ocean. The day of the wedding included being greeted with champagne upon arrival and late night snacks before exiting, with of course their  nuptials in between. And finally, the weekend ended with food trucks on the beach to keep the celebration going. It truly was one of those weddings where I would have loved to have been a guest because Karen and Adam so clearly cared about making it an experience for all!

A week or so after Karen  and Adam’s wedding, she and I were texting back and forth about  how fabulous their wedding day turned out to be.  Karen took the opportunity to thank me for keeping things organized the day of and told me what a gift it was to her as a bride. It made me giggle because I could have said the same about Karen. Her attention to detail was far and away the most I have seen out of any bride I’ve photographed. Nothing was overlooked and it honestly made their day so incredibly personal and special. I honestly think Karen could moonlight as a wedding planner if she ever wants to switch careers.

Some of my very favorite details of their day: personalized maps showing the events of the weekend, monogramed corn hole boards back at the beach house for guests to enjoy, white bridesmaids dressed that were chic and FABULOUS, center pieces of treats such as donuts and rice krispy treats,  macaroons with guests initials at their seats, and the list goes on. And of course we can’t forget Karen changing into a late night party dress that was just as amazing as the gown she said here vows in!

One other thing that I love so very much is when couples choose to be married by a family member or close friend. In this case, the couple was married by their brother-in-law, Nate, who is married to Karen’s twin sister, Michelle . He told personal stories about the two of them and connected things in a way that a hired officiant just isn’t capable of.

Karen and Adam, not just your day, but your entire weekend was just the BEST! And it was that way because of the two of you! You’re so clearly thoughtful of those around you, and care deeply about the people who make your world go round. I’m SO honored to have just been a small piece of the puzzle that day. Wishing  you many more years of health, happiness, and the BEST pizza Karen can dream up!

This gorgeous Wild Dunes Resort wedding in  Charleston, SC for Megan and Ian truly was one of the most spectacular days, but the end result was completely different than what these two first had in mind for their wedding. When I met with Megan and Ian for a glass of wine over two years ago […]

Kelly and Steven are part of the 2021 #rideodyecouple family that waited longer than most to finally make it to their Charleston wedding. Having to postpone their wedding date not once, but twice due to CoVid wasn’t an easy decision, but it made their day at Cannon Green even sweeter when it finally arrived. When I walked into Kelly’s getting ready Airbnb, […]

As a Charleston wedding photographer,  I have to admit that I see a lot of really beautiful big gatherings, but lately there’s been a very special place in my heart for intimate elopements and gatherings.  And that’s exactly what Hannah and Matthew’s day was. A small gathering of just their nearest and dearest on the […]
