CAMILLE & MARK | MIDDLETON PLACE AND DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON ENGAGEMENT

2017-08-23_0001.jpg

Thinking back on some of my first memories of meeting Mark back in college, I can honestly say they are some of the sweetest. That’s because when he’d come to visit my husband Tyler during our junior year, I’d make a habit of cooking up some pancakes for the guys the next morning. Admittedly, it was more of a selfish move, as I love pancakes and being that Tyler really doesn’t (seriously, who doesn’t like pancakes???), those guys gave me an excuse to whip some up. Since those college days I’ve had a ton of good times with Mark, one of my favorites being his brother’s wedding down in New Orleans, where let’s just say we took full advantage of Bourbon Street, being in our early 20s and all.

You see, Mark is one of those people it’s kind of impossible not to have a good time with, so when I heard he had gotten engaged to Camille, even though I hadn’t met her yet, I knew I was going to like her. As luck would have it, I wouldn’t have to wait long to meet Camille, as the two them had a family vacation planned in Murrells Inlet, which is just down about an hour and half down the road from Charleston. They thought Charleston would make for a beautiful backdrop for their engagement photos, and I couldn’t agree more.

Being that they were coming from out of town, Camille scheduled her hair and makeup artists, the FABULOUS Jami ofMakeup by Jamiand Mariah ofPampered and Prettyto come to my house. It was so much fun getting to know Camille as I watched them make her look absolutely drop dead gorgeous. Mark, you did good, sir!

Lucky for Camille and Mark, the Charleston humidity decided to come back with a vengeance after a few weeks of pleasant weather, and to say it was hot would be an understatement. But these two were absolute troopers, braving the summer heat, first at Middleton Place, and then in the historic district of downtown. Mark kept us laughing and despite the weather we had a great time! Camille and Mark, I can’t wait to pull double duty in March as both your wedding photographer and a late addition to the dance floor later in the night! If it’s anything like this day, we are in for such a fun night!

This gorgeous Wild Dunes Resort wedding in  Charleston, SC for Megan and Ian truly was one of the most spectacular days, but the end result was completely different than what these two first had in mind for their wedding. When I met with Megan and Ian for a glass of wine over two years ago […]

Kelly and Steven are part of the 2021 #rideodyecouple family that waited longer than most to finally make it to their Charleston wedding. Having to postpone their wedding date not once, but twice due to CoVid wasn’t an easy decision, but it made their day at Cannon Green even sweeter when it finally arrived. When I walked into Kelly’s getting ready Airbnb, […]

As a Charleston wedding photographer,  I have to admit that I see a lot of really beautiful big gatherings, but lately there’s been a very special place in my heart for intimate elopements and gatherings.  And that’s exactly what Hannah and Matthew’s day was.
