BOONE HALL WEDDING | AMANDA AND JONATHAN

I know the saying goes “third time is the charm,” but in the case of Amanda and Jonathan, it’s actually the second time that worked out just perfectly.  When they had to postpone their Boone Hall wedding here in Charleston, SC by a year, I know it couldn’t have been easy to wait to marry their best friend. But these two did so with grace and patience, and in the end they got to live out a day that was filled with so much love and so much joy that it’s hard to think that maybe this was the day the were supposed to become Mr. and Mrs. Forehand from the very beginning.

We began the day at Hotel Bennett downtown where Amanda got ready with her mom, sister, and two best friends. Amanda was a bit nervous when I first arrived and I told her the second she saw Jonathan all of that would fade away. And that’s exactly what happened. About an hour later when these two met for their first look I could see the way Amanda felt so at ease around Jonathan. And I could see the way Jonathan looked at Amanda with so much love in his eyes. And I just thought right there outside of Hotel Bennet, “These two were meant to be together.”

We all traveled to Boone Hall, where we took portraits underneath the stunning live Oak trees and Amanda and Jonathan relaxed with family and their wedding party in the Cotton dock as guests began to arrive for the ceremony. When it was time to say, “I do,” I watched as Jonathan watched Amanda be walked down the aisle by her mom and dad. And that was the second time that day that I knew they were meant to be together.

The amount of love and support from their families was just overwhelming in the room while these two and their guests danced the night away to Midnight City Band (who just so happens to be my FAVORITE band for weddings here in Charleston. And one of the best things to come out of that love was a sweet surprise from Amanda’s mom, who booked a Rolls Royce to whisk the happy couple away at the end of the night!

Amanda and Jonathan, thank you for letting me tag along on one of the most love filled days I can remember. It’s been such a pleasure getting to know not only the two of you, but also your families. Amanda, now that your mom told me I can be an adopted member of the Kasmans, don’t be surprised when I show up at your next family bbq! I am so thrilled for you both and can’t wait to watch the two of you grow in your love for one another!

THANK YOU TO THE CREATIVE TEAM!

Kelly and Steven are part of the 2021 #rideodyecouple family that waited longer than most to finally make it to their Charleston wedding. Having to postpone their wedding date not once, but twice due to CoVid wasn’t an easy decision, but it made their day at Cannon Green even sweeter when it finally arrived. When I walked into Kelly’s getting ready Airbnb, […]

As a Charleston wedding photographer,  I have to admit that I see a lot of really beautiful big gatherings, but lately there’s been a very special place in my heart for intimate elopements and gatherings.  And that’s exactly what Hannah and Matthew’s day was. A small gathering of just their nearest and dearest on the […]
