By now if you’ve been following along the blog at all you know that my best friend, Allison is expecting twin boys in just a few weeks. I’ve featured her baby shower and her gorgeous downtown Charleston maternity photos, and today you’re in for a treat because we are going to take a peak inside Maverick and Nash’s nursery. What you may not know about Allison yet is that she’s a seriously talented interior designer. As in she could start her own business if she wanted to. But this nursery isn’t about business… it’s about FUN!
When asked for her idea of what she wanted for this room Allison said she wanted it to feel like a kid’s room, so she decided to make it both colorful and playful. Allison began working on the nursery before she even knew whether she was having boys or girls, and the first thing she bought was the silk Moroccan rug from one of her favorite (an now also one of mine!) stores in Charleston, Celadon. Using the pattern, color, and design of the rug as inspiration, she based the rest of the nursery around this piece. Not a gal who likes to one stop shop for her interiors, she then pieced together the other items (all sourced at the end of this post) from various stores and online shops.
Perhaps the most unique part of the nursery are the pom pom mobiles hanging from Nash and Maverick’s cribs. That’s because not finding exactly what she wanted online, Allison decided to make them herself. Already taking her mom duties above and beyond. Its personal touches like this one, the cute wooly mammoth sitting on the chair that used to belong to dad Trevor, and a hang ten embroidery that nods to his surfing glory days, that elevate this nursery beyond just a perfectly designed room to one that has already begun to create memories for Allison & Trevor’s two little guys. But seriously, it’s perfectly designed. Take a look at those shelves.
So without further ado take a peak inside Maverick & Nash’s fun and colorful nursery. Just be warned it may want to make you start redecorating your own house. I know it did for me. Good thing Allison is right down the street!
