I am not going to lie… this might be my favorite session I’ve ever photographed. That’s not to say I haven’t loved all of my other sessions as well, and there’s not a single couple or family I’ve worked with so far that I wouldn’t hang out with on the weekends, but this one is just a special one for me. Maybe because it’s my best friend and her THREE guys that were along with us. Maybe it’s because it’s my first session I got to photograph in downtown Charleston since moving here. Maybe it’s the flower boxes. Maybe it’s the colorful and cute outfits that I just love. Maybe it’s the charm of Charleston and the city I’m falling more in love with every second I’m in it. Maybe it’s how much we laughed while taking these. Whatever it is, I’m in love.
To say that Allison and Trevor had a full weekend would be an understatement. In less than 48 hours they spent time at two birthday parties and one baby shower, yet they were still up to meet in downtown Charleston on Saturday night. We started out on Chalmers Street which is just charming as anything with it’s cobblestone and I couldn’t believe that when I suggested we get some movement shots that Allison insisted keeping her killer blue wedges on… that’s my girl!! And how fun is Allison’s colorful kimono? Oh and her palm tree bomber jacket? I could go on. She just had the best outfits. And Trevor was the best at keeping us all laughing while still being the consummate tour guide pointing out the history of the buildings or where George Washington once stayed.
We were running a little late and fighting the sunset, but when I tell you every corner of Charleston is picturesque I mean it. We literally stayed within a three block radius and yet there were still tons of spots within the middle of Queen and Church Street that we just ran out of time for. That just means I’m going to have to keep going back…. so who’s in for a photo session in downtown Charleston?? Just say the word.
Allison is going to be back in front of my camera for a few beach shots and if they turn out anything like these I’ll be in love all over again. Trevor and Allison, thanks for being some of the best friends a girl (and photographer) could ask for! You guys really are the best and I’m so excited for all the (double) good things coming your way.
